TECO GROUP designs and implements distributed control systems (DCS) that provide centralised supervision and decentralised process control for large-scale industrial plants, wastewater treatment facilities, cement factories, and water infrastructure networks. In a DCS architecture, multiple field outstations — each with its own PLC controller and I/O modules — manage local process areas independently while reporting to a central SCADA master station. This distributed approach delivers higher reliability, easier maintenance, and modular scalability compared to a single centralised controller, making it the preferred architecture for facilities with multiple process zones, hundreds of I/O points, and strict availability requirements.
Our distributed control system capabilities include:
- Multi-outstation DCS architectures with centralised SCADA supervision and hot redundant server configurations for mission-critical plants.
- Siemens-based PLC controllers at each outstation — programmed, configured, and commissioned by our authorized Siemens system integration team.
- Process MIMIC visualisation on multiple operator terminals with live animated graphics, alarm management, and historical trend logging.
- Integration with motor control centers (MCC), VFD panels, and MDB for unified electrical and automation control.
- Communication via fiber optic, wireless microwave, mobile GPRS, or UHF radio between outstations and the central control room.
- Scalable from small multi-zone plants to large facilities with dozens of outstations and thousands of I/O points.
- Full factory and site testing, commissioning, operator training, and ongoing maintenance support.
TECO GROUP has delivered DCS for prestigious infrastructure and industrial projects:
- As Samra WWTP — Ain Ghazal Pretreatment — DCS with hot redundant configuration for Jordan’s largest wastewater treatment facility.
- Wadi Arab WWTP — DCS with 12 outstations, 2 main stations, and 3 operator terminals for full plant automation.
- Wadi Shallala Irbid WWTP — DCS with fiber optic communication and process MIMIC visualisation.
- Muwaggar WWTP — DCS with fiber optic backbone linking MCC, MDB, and VFD subsystems.
- 2500 MT SRC Cement Steel Silo — Line 2 — DCS with MCC Form 4 for cement industry production control.
- Arab Potash Company (APC) — Plant Optimisation — DCS with wireless microwave communication for solar pond production expansion.
- Jordan House RHC — DCS-based metering and monitoring system.
- Greater Amman Water SCADA (GASS) — city-wide DCS with UHF radio telemetry for water distribution monitoring.
