Automatic Power Factor Correction (APFC)

TECO GROUP manufactures automatic power factor correction (APFC) panels that optimise your facility’s power factor, reduce reactive power charges from the electricity utility, and improve overall electrical network efficiency. Available with or without harmonic filters up to 850 KVAR, our APFC panels are deployed in factories, hospitals, hotels, wastewater treatment plants, and commercial buildings — every panel 100% factory tested with a 3 kV applied voltage test and issued with a Routine Factory Test (RFT) certificate before dispatch.

Our automatic power factor correction capabilities include:

• Standard APFC panels — automatic capacitor bank switching controlled by intelligent power factor controllers that monitor the network and switch capacitor steps to maintain target power factor.
• APFC panels with detuned harmonic filters — for installations with high harmonic content from VFD panels, UPS systems, and non-linear loads, preventing capacitor resonance and harmonic amplification.
• Capacitor ratings from small commercial installations to high-capacity industrial systems up to 850 KVAR and beyond.
• Advanced ABB, Epcos, and Siemens controllers offering real-time monitoring, front panel status reporting, alarm management, and communication interfaces.
• Wall-mount or free-standing enclosure configurations depending on panel size and site requirements.
• 100% factory testing: visual and dimensional check, mechanical operation, 3 kV applied voltage test for 1 minute, and full electrical and functional verification.
• Coordination with MDB busbar systems for centralised power factor correction at the main intake point.
