TECO GROUP designs and installs UHF radio communication systems that provide dedicated, license-based telemetry links between SCADA control centres and remote field sites. UHF radio is the preferred industrial communication technology for mission-critical installations where continuous, real-time data acquisition must be guaranteed independently of third-party cellular networks. Unlike mobile GPRS, UHF radio operates on a dedicated frequency band — providing interference-resistant, always-available communication that is not subject to public network congestion, outages, or monthly service fees. This makes UHF the backbone of Jordan’s most important water SCADA networks, including the Greater Amman Water SCADA System (GASS).
Our UHF radio communication capabilities include:
- Licensed UHF radio telemetry links between SCADA master stations and multiple remote outstations for real-time data acquisition and control.
- Point-to-multipoint network topologies connecting dozens of remote pumping stations, wells, and reservoir sites to a single central control room.
- Dedicated frequency allocation — no reliance on third-party mobile networks, no monthly data fees, and no risk of public network congestion or outage.
- Integration with PLC controllers and RTUs at each remote site for automated telemetry of pump status, flow rates, tank levels, pressure, and alarm conditions.
- Remote start/stop control and setpoint adjustment of pumps and motors from the central SCADA operator station via UHF link.
- Repeater station design and installation for extended coverage across hilly terrain and long distances.
- Integration with hot redundant SCADA servers and distributed control systems (DCS) for city-wide and regional water network management.
- Hybrid architectures combining UHF with GPRS, wireless microwave, or fiber optic for network redundancy and automatic failover.
- Full site testing and commissioning including radio coverage surveys, signal strength verification, and ongoing maintenance support.
TECO GROUP has delivered UHF radio telemetry systems for prestigious water infrastructure projects:
- Greater Amman Water SCADA System (GASS) — city-wide UHF radio telemetry network with hot redundant SCADA servers, DCS, and dozens of remote outstations monitoring the entire Greater Amman water distribution network. This is one of Jordan’s largest and most prestigious SCADA implementations.
- Lajjoun Wells Water Project — Damkhi, Swaqa, Qastal & Qatraneh — UHF radio links connecting multiple remote well sites with MCC and MDB to a central PLC control station for coordinated multi-site well pumping operations.
- Wadi Arab WWTP — UHF communication as part of the 12-outstation SCADA system for full wastewater treatment plant automation.
